The digital miniature actuators are modified gyratory stepper motors with female thread inside the rotary part which works in the opposite sense to a thread shaft.
Therefore a rotary movement can be transmitted to a linear movement, whereby the stroke according to lead of the screw and amount of step angle, is done stepwise.
